              <text>Gloria Reinish was the first woman to receive an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree (both in electrical engineering), and a doctorate (in bioengineering) from Columbia University. She began her career in industry, working for Bell Labs, primarily in research and development of radar systems and telephone repeaters, and Sperry Gyroscope, where she earned a patent on radar ranging systems.

Reinish turned to academia as a career when she was completing her Ph.D. At Fairleigh Dickinson University since 1961, Reinish has taught both electrical and biomedical engineering, becoming a full professor in 1976. Her own research focuses on the electrical properties of bone and electrical stimulation of bone growth. She served as the chairperson of the electrical engineering department, the first woman appointed to that position, and chair of the bioengineering program for a number of years in the 1970s and 1980s.

Reinish is a life member of IEEE and SWE where she has been very active with student members.</text>
